From customer inquiries to themed playgrounds

As a starting point, themed playgrounds have in common that one wants to create an attraction or attraction in the form of a playground that goes beyond the standard combination of swing, seesaw and slide. In detail, but above all in relation to their development phase, they can be quite different: This not only has to do with the individual and local topics, but also with the different customer groups. At OBRA, themed playgrounds have already been implemented for tourism associations, cable car companies, children's hotels, amusement parks or public institutions - and they have quite different origins.

Roman playground in Osterburken, DE

The water playground "Neptun" in Osterburken in Baden-Württemberg was created through the cooperation of a voluntary planning group, under the sponsorship of the city. The aim was to take up the topic of the Romans, taking into account the historical history and the numerous Roman finds in the city. The fascination of water as a game highlight and the theming of a “Roman fort” with an aqueduct were the focus of the considerations right from the start. A project group presented ideas to the public and incorporated feedback from the population. Neighbors were able to register in advance to help with the installation. After a site could be defined, the OBRA planning department then designed the playground for the topics and presented detailed and realistic implementation proposals. With these clear visualizations, which included an animation, sponsors could also be acquired in addition to the financial means from the city and LEADER funding.

When realizing on site, where the company Müller Kinderspielgeräte e. K. was responsible for the water playground, a circulatory system including a retention basin was installed around the
to minimize water requirements.

Adventure trail Legian in Laion, IT

On the Legian adventure trail in South Tyrol, visitors are sent on a journey through time with 7 stations. From the big bang to the modern age. Important stations here were the slide tower on the subject of Romans, a castle gate on the subject of the Middle Ages, and a sound station with the theme "Walther von der Vogelweide" as it comes from the region around Laion.

The tourism association Lajen and the company Schweigl aktivzeit were responsible for the theming.
A special feature of this project is the up to 7m high playground equipment, which was prefabricated into modules at OBRA so that it can then be assembled in the terrain that is difficult to access.

Children's Hotel Simmerl, Sankt Englmar, DE

In the Kinderhotel Simmerl, the themes of bees, forest and animals run through the entire hotel - and through the hotel marketing. The idea of setting up an indoor toddler playground with a tree house for this topic came from the Pielmeier family and Herbert Koll's gastro concept. The implementation of the indoor playground, including the choice of color and material, was developed by OBRA together according to the wishes of all decision-makers and handled including assembly up to the handover. Untreated wood, platform coverings made of cashmere goat hair carpets and natural colors are ideal for theming the small children's play area.
