Play across Europe with OBRA

In 2017, the company strategy “OBRA 2022” was developed, which has currently been further developed for the future. Right from the start, one focus was defined as an export offensive, the aim of which was to establish sales structures across the board in the European local markets and to gradually find local partners in other export markets. This is intended to ensure organic growth and thus the location in the long term.
You can find an overview of the partners in Germany and other European countries here:

Groombridge, southern England, UK

A project from 2023 is located near the southern English mansion “Groombridge Place”, which is surrounded by a moat and parks. The picturesque ensemble is very popular both as an excursion destination and as a film backdrop. The extensive playground is located directly near Groombridge train station on Station Road towards Groombridge Place and is naturally shaded by an old tree population, which was taken into account in the planning.
Project partner: Southern Landscape & Construction LTD, total cost: £125.000 (approx. €143.00)

The impressive entrance to the playground can be reached via a stylized bridge based on “Groombridge Place”. From there you reach the surrounding corridor with covered towers, which were the focus at the beginning of the planning phase. Initially, a massive covered circular closed corridor was desired, but this was somewhat dissolved in the planning process in favor of additional small children's and inclusion play areas, as well as the preservation of old trees, and thus became a playable palisade corridor with different heights with different bridge and climbing crossings was further developed. When you enter, the playground is now clearly recognizable as a castle complex, but it opens to the rear, where there is also space for classic individual devices such as multiple swings, Viking swings, toddler combinations, various motor skills walls and a wheelchair carousel. Ring hole mats with turf were chosen as fall protection surfaces.

Different climbs with different levels of difficulty increase the game value.

Cammin, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, DE 2023

The Windjammer ship type is one of the largest sailing ships, so it is obvious that the version as a play device also has considerable dimensions: Device length: 13,15m; Device height 5,35m with a critical free fall height of 2,30m. The slightly slanted stranded windjammer in a rural community near Rostock consists of 3 parts, which can also be assembled separately or added later: At the front, the bow, consisting of a jib boom with a dolphin as a figurehead - further the middle part with a mast, where you can climb the lookout - as well as from the two-part rear with a climbing wall and other climbing options. Due to the height of the slide at the rear of 2,6m as well as the demanding climbs and the sloping platforms, the rear part of the windjammer also offers some playful challenges for older children.

South Tyrol, IT, La Crusc chairlifts, 2023

In many ski areas there is or was a transformation process from pure winter tourism to year-round tourism, or individual destinations in regions with less snow shifted the focus to summer tourism. Offers for families in the form of attractive play areas should not be missing so that families become regular guests. The children have a say in the choice of destination for their next holiday: “We want to go back to that great playground.” The “snow groomer” play equipment creates a reminiscence of the ski slope, which is hardly recognizable as such in summer operation. The special optional elevations from OBRA for anchoring to the concrete foundation enable dismantling over the winter without having to dismantle the play equipment.
