The FIT 2000 model is an initiative of the Office of the Tyrolean Provincial Government, Sports Department. The FIT 2000 initiative aims to provide the population with opportunities and incentives for health-oriented physical activity and sport. The FIT 2000 concept was developed by the Institute for Sports Science at the Leopold-Frenzens-Universität Innsbruck, under the direction of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Günther Mitterbauer and with the help of Mag. Veronika Letzner and Mag. Johann Weitlahner. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Günther Mitterbauer focuses on the factors exercise and sport influencing the quality of life and health.
