Now it's getting cozy: nest swings and net swings

  • The play equipment Now it's getting cozy: nest swings and net swings
    is suitable for children seotext.

Swinging can also be really comfortable! Several children can stay in the nest swings and net swings and let themselves be inspired by the feeling of swinging. By the way, rocking is calming and promotes the sense of balance - that's why rocking has probably been around since time immemorial. For example, there are pictures and sculptures from ancient India, of the god Shiva on a swing, or vases from ancient Greece decorated with swing scenes. Children love to swing and often spend long periods of time on the swing. All the better, then, to provide a wide variety of swings on the playground. On the individual swings, the child can experience the feeling of taking off and "flying", in the nest swings and net swings they can swing comfortably and chat. Something for everyone - at OBRA Design!

Frequently asked questions and answers about swings and rocking equipment

Which swing beam height makes sense?

As standard, swing beam heights of 2 and 2,5 m are common. For children under 6 years old, 2 m is a better choice as these swings do not swing out that far. From the age of 6, 2,5 m makes more sense to enable a more exciting swing experience. There are also oversized swings that offer a special thrill for young people and adults.

Should the swing be made of wood or steel?

This question can not be answered generally. Of course, steel lasts a very long time, but well-constructed wooden frames also last a very long time. For wooden frames, however, we recommend a steel swing beam, as horizontal wooden parts such as swing beams can rot prematurely if cracks form, unless the cracks are closed for a short time.

Should the swing be made of squared timber or round timber?

OBRA Design has both variants in its program. Square wood swings can be manufactured more cheaply and are therefore a good choice for less frequented playgrounds, e.g. in residential complexes. For public playgrounds, however, we recommend industrially manufactured swings made of round wood, as these are inherently more stable due to the force-fitting and form-fitting connections between A-pillars and swing beams.
